A Reminder Regarding Life Threatening Emergencies

Over the past few months there has been an increase in medical emergencies attending the GP Practice. Patients have presented at reception despite being advised to go to A&E or to call 999. Our reception staff are well trained and have protocols to follow. These are for patient safety.

We must request that life threatening emergencies should call 999 or attend A&E as soon as possible. Emergencies such as chest pain, breathing difficulties or stroke type illness, need further urgent medical tests and hospital intervention which cannot be administered at the Practice.

Therefore we would ask you not to attend the Health Centre, if you have an urgent potentially life threatening medical emergency. Please go straight to A&E or ring 999. Do not put your life at risk.

Many thanks for your support in this matter.
